In the article Historical archive of Novorossiysk area in Odessa creation attempt and a key role of A. Skalkovsky is analyzed. The article deals with his work on revealing of historical documents in various departmental archives and ordering of huge weight of documentary materials after general governorship liquidation in New Russia region.
