Annotation
The article is devoted to the problem of relations between the Russian representative in Palestine on the eve of World War I: the Russian Consulate General in Jerusalem and the Russian ecclesiastical mission in Jerusalem. In the beginning of 20th century, successive Russian consuls General of diametrically opposite belonged to the representative of the Holy Synod, and one of the reasons was the vigorous activity of the head of the Mission, which provoked a protest from the Greek hierarchs of the Jerusalem Church.
