The historical sources, concerning the development of culture on the territory of the Republic of Komi in the 19th – the beginning of the 20th century (kept in the State archive of the Republic of Komi)
Annotation
The article is devoted to the substantial part of archival files, containing information about the development of culture on the territory of the Republic of Komi in the 19th - the beginning of the 20th century. The author gives some information about the groups of funds and various types of archival sources that broadly cover cultural development of the society at that historical period. The author also highlights the importance of church that strongly influences the people’s life in many aspects. It has also a great impact on the development of spiritual culture, education, the maintenance of some traditions in everyday life. The information, concerning this topic, can be found in some archival files of religious institutions of that time. The author underlines the idea that the archival files, related to cultural institutions (gymnasiums, schools, libraries), are the important source of information about the level of public education and enlightenment. Some factors, that influence these processes, are also mentioned. The author shows the role of authorities in development and adjustment of some aspects of people’s life under consideration. There are not set aside some documents, concerning the state police functioning, where one can find information about some cultural events, staging in theatres, spreading of printing devices, and, of course, the political reliability and legality of these actions. As a result of the whole research, the author comes to a following conclusion: the archival files under study contain peculiar properties of the everyday life of Komi natives, for example, their level of speaking Russian, Komi newspapers’ publishing, studying Komi Zyryan language. The data about the documents is followed by the examples of cultural events that happened in towns and settlements.
