Literary policy of the CPSU during the Khrushchev’s Thaw and the creation of the Union of Writers of the Russian Federation. 1953-1957
Annotation
This article is devoted to studying of a question of the reasons of creation of the Union of writers of RSFSR. All stages of preparation and making decision on creation of the Union of writers of the Russian Federation in party bodies and the Union of writers of the USSR are in detail considered. First of all, it is a question of Department of science, schools and cultures of the Central Committee of CPSU across RSFSR. This body was the main link between the top party and state management and the Union of writers of the USSR, prepared many materials devoted to the analysis of the current situation in literature and the vision of prospects of its development, and concerning personnel questions of future union. In article the role and influence of such historic figures as N. S. Khrushchev, D.T. Shepilov, A.T. Tvardovsky and some other on process of preparation of the decision on creation of the literary union is investigated. The literary and political situation in the country during the period from 1953 to 1957 is studied. and a role in this process of the Union of writers and certain writers, influence on political and literary process of solutions XX of congress of CPSU and other directive documents of party. The special attention in a material is paid to position of the regional literary organizations of RSFSR which developed during this period. The position of heads of the regional literary organizations in relation to the new union, and also to a question of need of serious changes in literary policy, in particular material supplies of writers and a question of fee and publishing policy is considered in a retrospective. Some important circumstances pushed the party and state management of the USSR led by N. S. Khrushchev and literary community to creation of the Union of writers of the Russian Federation. Its education allowed to pay more attention to "provincial" writers and, in particular, development of national literatures of RSFSR. Besides, the new union was urged to become certain "counterbalance" to the Moscow and Leningrad writers who, according to the power, went too far in the requirements of freedom of creative self-expression.
