For the first time in modern historiography, this book covers the experience of the youth social movement “Light Cavalry” during its most active period. The history of the “Light Cavalry” is considered as an example of the interaction between youth social movements and public authorities. The controversial experience of the “Light Cavalry” in overcoming bureaucracy, improving the work of state, as well as cooperative, professional and other organizations, is analyzed. Much attention is paid to the specifics of the activities and value orientations of the “revolutionary turning point” generation, its young followers, and their mutual influence. The authors make extensive use of archive materials, as well as rare publications of the 1920s and 1930s.

The monograph is intended for students, activists of the modern youth movement, civil servants working with youth, and anyone interested in the history of the 20th century.
