Generation of the Fond 397 (Khrushchev Nikita Sergeyevich) of the Russian State Archive of Social and Political History: Glimpses of History
Abstract
On the basis of a case study of the generation of the fond 397 (Khrushchev Nikita Sergeyevich) the article strives to demonstrate the critical part played by close relatives in the commemoration of the labors of a famous person and theirs times. The activities of Khrushchev’s friends and family in compiling and safeguarding his heirlooms and documentary heritage are a good example of cherishing historical memory of professional and personal life of a distinguished political and state leader that had ruled the country for 10 years. The Russian State Archive of Social and Political History, where the relatives had chosen to deposit Khrushchev’s material and documentary heritage, plays a major role in remembrance work. The author narrates who supplemented the fond of N.S. Khrushchev and under what dramatic circumstances.
