Presented on the conference papers and reports touched upon the following scientific issues and debating topics: mainstreaming documents on the Crimea conference of 1945 from the Archival Fond of the Russian Federation and from foreign; the Soviet Union in plexus of international relations before and in the days of the Great Patriotic War; formation of the Anti-Hitler Coalition; impact of the situation on the fronts of the war on the dynamics of the Crimea conference of 1945; current mythologization of the Great Patriotic War history and Nazi revival; the Crimea conference of 1945 as an example of the 20th century conflict resolution featuring the great powers; accessibility and use of documents on World War II in Russian and foreign archives; fonds of personal provenance and document collections of the participants of the Crimea conference of 1945 from state and municipal archives; nature of geopolitical play between the allies in 1945; fighting on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War before and after Crimea conference of 1945.

The publication is implemented according to the order of the President of the Russian Federation of 25.07.2014 № 243-рп, following the All-Russia “Znanie” Society competition, on state subsidies allocated to the Russian Society of Historians and Archivists as a government grant amounting to 900,000 rubles in conformity with the contract no. 10/243 of 27.01.2015.

The proceedings are grouped in three thematic area: the Soviet Union in plexus of international relations before and in the days of the Great Patriotic War; the impact of the situation on the fronts of the war on the dynamics of the Crimea conference of 1945; issues of mainstreaming documents on World War II and the Crimea conference of 1945 from the Archival Fond of the Russian Federation.

Drawing on a wide range of sources, the book analyses the main events, interpretations, and debating topics of the scholarship of the Great Patriotic War, course and results of the Crimea Conference of 1945 and argues the necessity of studying key events and processes in current context. It contends that the study should be founded on facts and archival documents, as dependable scientific knowledge and collective memory of the nations is the best safeguard against attempts to revise the results of World War II. It offers a representation of the Soviet Union in the prewar and wartime international relations, underscores the impact of situation in the lines of World War II on the running of the Crimea Conference, addresses the issue of actualization of documents of the Archival Fond of the Russian Federation pertaining to the study of World War II with reference to strategic options of leaders of the Anti-Hitler coalition in the course of the Crimea Conference.

The book is designed for historians, archivists, social and political scientists, Ph.D. candidates and students, local historians, university professors and teachers.
